Start with the shipment reference
First, verify the Container Number, B/L, or Booking Reference used to create the tracking request.

A wrong reference can result in the wrong shipment being searched or the reference being unable to match at all.

Review the full shipment details
Check information such as:

  • Container Number

  • Booking Number

  • Carrier

  • Port of Loading

  • Port of Discharge

  • ETD

  • ETA

  • Route

  • Transshipment information

  • Latest shipment status

For example, Tracktainer tracking views can show origin and destination together with shipment status and routing information.

Remember that shipment information can change
Schedule and route information may be updated during the journey.

An ETA that looks different from an earlier value may simply represent a newer shipment update rather than incorrect data.

Tracktainer has dedicated ETA-change tracking for this reason.

Still looks wrong?
If the reference is correct and you believe the tracking information belongs to a different shipment or contains incorrect data, contact Tracktainer Support and include the shipment reference.
