Container Number
A Container Number identifies an individual container within the tracking information.

Tracktainer can display the container number together with other shipment information.

For example:

Container No: MSKU7654321

The current empty-return tracking structure shows the container number directly inside the shipment details.

Booking Number
A Booking Number identifies the carrier booking associated with the shipment.

Tracktainer can show this reference alongside the container.

For example:

Booking No: MAEU1234567

Can one booking contain multiple containers?
Yes.

Tracktainer's current multi-container structure shows one booking with three individual containers and their own progress.

This means you may see:

Booking: MAEU1234567

with several container numbers listed underneath.

Why are both references useful?
The booking provides the shipment-level reference, while individual container numbers allow Tracktainer to show container-specific progress.

This is especially important for multi-container shipments where containers may complete events at different times.
