What does Transshipment mean in Tracktainer?
Some shipment journeys contain one or more intermediate ports before reaching the final destination.

Tracktainer can identify this within the route information.

For example, an existing tracking record shows:

Shanghai → Singapore → Rotterdam

with:

1 transshipment

Can there be more than one transshipment?
Yes.

Another current Tracktainer shipment update displays:

2 transshipments

within the route information.

Does a transshipment port replace the final destination?
No.

In the In Transit example, the container is moving toward Singapore as an intermediate point, while Rotterdam remains the destination shown in the shipment route.

Why is this useful?
Transshipment information gives you a clearer view of the actual route rather than showing only the origin and final destination.
