Port of Loading
Tracktainer displays the Port of Loading as part of the shipment's route information when available.
In the current example, the shipment is scheduled to depart:
Shanghai (CNSHA)
and continue toward Rotterdam.
Port of Discharge
The Port of Discharge represents the destination port shown for the tracked ocean journey.
In the same Tracktainer example:
Rotterdam (NLRTM)
is shown as the destination.
Why are port codes shown?
Tracktainer can display both the port name and its location code.
For example:
Shanghai — CNSHA
Rotterdam — NLRTM
What happens when the shipment arrives?
When shipment data indicates that the destination has been reached, Tracktainer can report the shipment as arrived at the Port of Discharge.
The current arrival notification states:
MSKU7654321 arrived at POD — Rotterdam (NLRTM).
