How ETA Updates Work

Tracktainer can show you when the estimated arrival date of your shipment changes.

What happens when an ETA changes?
When Tracktainer receives an updated arrival estimate, the new date can be reported as a shipment update.

The current ETA-change notification example shows:

Previous ETA: 14 Jul 2026

New ETA: 20 Jul 2026

Delay: 6 days

The notification tells the user that the estimated arrival at Rotterdam has been revised from 14 July to 20 July.

Why is this useful?
Instead of only seeing the newest ETA, the notification provides context about what changed.

This makes it easier to understand:

What was the previous expected date?

What is the new expected date?

How large is the change?

Where will I see the change?
ETA changes can be communicated through Tracktainer shipment updates and can also be reviewed from the shipment tracking details.

Do I need to track the shipment again?
No.

An ETA change belongs to an existing tracking request.

Tracktainer continues following the shipment and reports relevant changes as tracking information is updated.
