How often does Tracktainer update shipment data?
Tracktainer monitors active shipments frequently throughout the day.

The exact update frequency may vary depending on the shipment’s current status, urgency, and the availability of new tracking information.

For shipments that require closer monitoring, checks may be performed more frequently.

What happens when new carrier data becomes available?
In addition to scheduled tracking checks, Tracktainer can update shipment information as soon as new data is received from the carrier or connected data source.

This means important changes do not always have to wait for the next scheduled check.

When new information becomes available, Tracktainer can reflect it immediately in the shipment record.

What information can be updated?
Depending on the available carrier data, Tracktainer may update:

  • Shipment status

  • ETD

  • ETA

  • Route information

  • Port information

  • Voyage progress

  • Container milestones

  • Gate-out events

  • Empty return events

How does this work in practice?
A shipment may be checked multiple times during the day.

If no new carrier information is available, the existing tracking data remains unchanged.

If new data is received between scheduled checks, Tracktainer can update the shipment as soon as that information becomes available.

Will I be notified when something important changes?
Depending on the event and your notification settings, Tracktainer can notify you about important shipment updates such as:

Voyage Planned

In Transit

Arrival

ETA Changes

Gate-Out Events

Empty Return Events

Do I need to refresh or track the shipment again?
No.

Once the shipment is being tracked, Tracktainer continues monitoring it automatically.

You can return to your dashboard at any time to see the latest available tracking information.
