Booking number tracking
Tracktainer can also use a carrier booking reference to start a shipment tracking request.

This is useful when you have the booking information but don't want to enter every container number separately.

Step 1 — Enter your booking reference
Enter the booking reference into the Tracktainer tracking field.

Example:

MAEU1234567

Step 2 — Start the tracking request
Keep Auto Detect selected and click:

Track Shipment

Tracktainer will attempt to identify the carrier and retrieve available information linked to the booking.

Can a booking contain multiple containers?
Yes.

A booking can contain several containers.

Tracktainer can show the progress of individual containers within the same shipment.

For example, an actual Tracktainer notification structure can report:

2 of 3 containers gated out

while identifying the remaining container as Pending.

This allows you to understand both the overall shipment status and the status of individual containers.

Why is this useful?
Without shipment-level visibility, you may know that part of a booking has progressed but not immediately know which container is still outstanding.

Tracktainer can present this information together.

For example:

Shipment: MAEU1234567

✓ Container 1 — Gated out

✓ Container 2 — Gated out

○ Container 3 — Pending

The same principle also applies to empty returns. Tracktainer can distinguish containers that have already been returned from those that are still pending.

What happens after tracking starts?
The booking remains available in your dashboard while tracking is active.

As
new carrier information becomes available, shipment and container statuses can be updated.
