What does Pending mean?
A Pending status usually means Tracktainer has received your tracking request, but shipment data is not available yet.

When a new tracking request is received, Tracktainer's current notification explains:

We've received your tracking request. As soon as the carrier data is available, we'll send you the voyage details.

So Pending does not automatically mean there is a problem with your shipment.

It means Tracktainer is waiting for tracking information to become available.

What happens next?
Once carrier data becomes available, Tracktainer can update the shipment with information such as:

  • Carrier

  • Voyage

  • Port of Loading

  • Port of Discharge

  • ETD

  • ETA

  • Route

  • Shipment status

  • Container milestones

For example, once a voyage is planned, Tracktainer can display the scheduled departure and arrival information and continue notifying you about future changes.

Do I need to submit the shipment again?
Normally, no.

If the tracking request has already been received, you don't need to repeatedly create the same request while waiting for carrier data.

You can open:

View Full Tracking Details

to check the current state of the tracking request. The Pending notification already provides this option.

Why might data not be available yet?
The information supplied to Tracktainer depends on the shipment data available from the carrier.

In some cases, a tracking reference may be created before voyage information becomes available.

What if Pending lasts longer than expected?
First, verify that the shipment reference you entered is correct.

If the request remains pending and no tracking information appears, you can contact Tracktainer Support for assistance.
