Understanding Gate-Out Milestones

 

What does Gate-Out mean in Tracktainer?
When Tracktainer receives a gate-out event for a container, the event can be reported separately from the overall shipment status.

A current Tracktainer notification example states:

MSKU7654321 — Gate out completed

and identifies the location where the container was gated out.



What information can the notification include?
A gate-out notification may include:

  Container Number
  


• 
  Booking Number
  


• 
  Carrier
  


• 
  Container type
  


• 
  Gate-out date
  


• 
  Shipment information
  

The current single-container example includes container MSKU7654321, booking MAEU1234567, carrier Maersk Line, and the recorded gate-out information.



What happens with multiple containers?
If a shipment contains several containers, they may not all complete gate-out at the same time.

Tracktainer can display:

2 of 3 containers gated out

and clearly identify the remaining container as Pending.

For example:

MSKU7654321 — 14 Jul 2026

TGHU4455667 — 13 Jul 2026

CAIU9988776 — Pending

This allows you to identify the outstanding container without checking each one separately.

Will Tracktainer continue tracking after gate-out?
Yes, the current single-container gate-out notification explicitly states that Tracktainer will continue notifying the user about shipment updates and changes.
