What is a transshipment in Tracktainer?
A shipment route may include an intermediate port before reaching its final destination.
When that information is available, Tracktainer can display the transshipment within the route.
How does it appear?
In the current Tracktainer In Transit example, the container has departed Shanghai (CNSHA) and is moving toward Singapore (SGSIN), which is identified as the transshipment port.
The route also displays:
1 transshipment
Does transshipment change the final destination?
Not necessarily.
The same tracking example still shows Rotterdam (NLRTM) as the final destination while Singapore appears as an intermediate point in the journey.
Why is transshipment visibility useful?
It gives you more context than simply seeing:
Origin → Destination
Instead, the shipment journey can be understood as:
Shanghai → Singapore → Rotterdam
when the available route information includes an intermediate port.
